The movement to end farmed animal suffering is growing. One sign of that growth is that there’s a lot of conferences to attend. But it’s hard to keep up with what is happening, and where. Our community requested that we create a living database.

  • AVA Summit

    From their website: AVA Summit is an international conference series for advocates working towards systemic change and advancing various strategies toward one shared vision: removing animals from our food system and other human uses.

    AVA Summit is for advocates at any stage working toward systemic change for farmed animals — including NGO staff, campaigners, researchers, funders, students, communications professionals, policy practitioners, grassroots organizers, and emerging leaders seeking to deepen impact and collaborate across the region.

  • Sentient Futures Summit

  • Conference on Animal Rights in Europe (CARE)

    From their website: The Conference on Animal Rights in Europe (CARE) is an international conference organized since 2016.

    It is aimed at connecting and inspiring animal advocates from all across the globe, most notably underrepresented regions, where the animal welfare movement has a shorter track record.

  • PHAIR Conference

    From their website: A field-defining forum for research on animal advocacy, human–animal relations, and sustainable food system change. Bringing together researchers, advocates, and practitioners from around the world, the conference serves as a catalyst for new ideas, cross-sector collaboration, and evidence-based action for animals.

  • EA Global

    Effective Altruism (EA) conferences brings together a wide network of people who have made helping others a core part of their lives. Speakers and attendees share new thinking and research in the field of effective altruism and coordinate on global projects. These events usually focus on the full range of causes related to effective altruism, including farmed animal welfare, global health and development, biosecurity, AI safety, and more.

  • EAGx and EA Summits

    From the Effective Altruism Forum: EAGx conferences are locally-organized conferences for people interested in effective altruism. An EAGx event typically involves talks and workshops, opportunities to meet and share advice with other effective altruists, and social events.

    EA Summits are a newer event series launched by the Centre for Effective Altruism (CEA) to serve as introductory, regionally accessible events that complement the more established EAG and EAGx conference series.
